A building brimming with history
With its beautiful « bolé », that is to say, a large stone balcony, its monumental fireplaces and mantlepiece dating from the XVIIth century, all typical of the architecture in Périgord, this traditional mansion represents an elegant fusion between the charm of the old and the comfort of the new.
The English garden
The garden is an invitation to contemplation, with its boxwood topiaries, and a wide variety of flowers and species of trees. Depending on the season, fresh cherries, mirabelles, damsons and figs will embellish your breakfast table together with delicious home-made jams.
A wooded park of 8 acres
Our park offers many opportunities whether you wish to enjoy the sun, have a picnic, or simply stroll from house. Should you wish to go further, here are five public footpaths easily accessible without the need for a car.
The vast swimming pool
The 18m x 3,5m saltwater swimming pool, heated from May to early October is large enough to do laps or just chill out. It is accessible to our guests from 11am till 5pm.
Please note that our swimming pool is equipped with an electric cover, but there is no safety barrier, so children are not permitted to use the pool without parental supervision.
8 deckchairs are at the disposal of guests.
A romantic barn for your parties
The dry-stone building, decorated with ancient chandeliers and mirrors, offers a wonderful setting for summertime parties for (please note that it is not heated). Please contact us for a quote. We’re happy to put you in contact with our partners (catering company, table, chairs and furniture rentals).
A range of shops within a radius of 3 kms
Our charming and peaceful hamlet, is situated 2 kilometers from the lovely village of La Tour Blanche(bakery, butcher, post office, grocers, tobacconist and newsagents, hairdresser and a medical centre and even a coworking office, what else!)

The Périgord & me
Périgord I adore
After travelling throughout western France, and increasing dangerously my carbon footprint, looking for the house of my dreams, Périgord vert, the northern part of Périgord, emerged as the obvious place to be. Fortified houses, mediaeval castles, white lime-stone villages, the hilly landscape, forests, green meadows, the bucolic river Dronne ; Périgord Vert is a source of perpetual wonder, and not only for your eyes…
Périgord = flavour
….but to the delight of your taste buds too, for this is a place where the good things of life have been preserved by proud men and women utterly committed to the importance of the upkeep of their lands and produce. Just close your eyes and imagine the perfection of the soft-scented strawberries here, the sublime tomatoes, the walnuts, the foie gras, the truffles…really, need I go on? And consider this too: that the much-vaunted “Savoir Vivre” is not just a concept here, it’s a fact of life. Come! Enjoy!
Périgord without passport
Ever since HundredYears’ War, the Dordogne has experienced a constant intermingling of its population. Many Britons have established themselves here in this county that some call « Dordogneshire », but likewise Dutch and Belgian people who enjoy the calmness and the sweetness of this land of milk and honey; where it is long considered that everyone has the right and indeed the honour to come from somewhere else, and where folk are still made welcome.
Who am I?
After being a journalist for quality dailies, Le Figaro in Budapest, and Le Monde in Prague, I was a TV writer for French TV for twenty years. Since then I created a TV show about the French language from France and elsewhere, Par Monts et Par Mots and I am now pursuing my career as a writer (novels, biographies, essays) in this beautiful mansion where I settled down in 2022.
I dreamed of a house where I could « cultivate my garden » in every sense of the word. Last spring I created my vegetable patch - an epic adventure for a neocountry person, then I opened my guest house, which to my surprise was constantly full during the summer.
Encouraged by this good start, I decided to initiate cultural activities and experiences for my guests and for local people, starting with my area of expertise: writing.
My writing workshops
WRITING is offering oneself a secret garden, contemplating the immensity of possibilities, pushing the boundaries of our imagination.
WRITING in a virtual world where everything vanishes in a split second is also taking time to remember, to leave a print and give a meaning to one's existence.
WRITING is also putting your weapons down, sometimes letting the tears flow, to re-connect with oneself and at the same time secure a distance from oneself.
I have been leading writing workshops with famous lycée Louis Le Grand for four years, and I've just started a new writing workshop in Périgord:
